CUSTOM FORMATS

Does your vial fit?

Enter five measurements of your vial and check whether it is compatible with IdiCap's standard tooling. For formats outside its range, we design the gripper or head they need.

Your measurements

Pre-filled with a 15 ml conical tube; replace the values with your vial's.

Result

Indicative result, computed from the tooling design dimensions before the machine is calibrated. We confirm it with your vials.

    Custom tooling

If your vial is out of range, or you want the result confirmed, send us the measurements and we will propose a solution.

    How to measure

Measure with the vial standing upright on the table. Calipers reading 0.1 mm are enough. If you have several from the same batch, measure two or three and take the average.

    Screw cap or vacuum tube
With cap 2 1 straight section 3 the rim sits inside the cap Without cap 4 rim Cap on its own 5 the whole cap, skirt included

Not to scale. The cap skirt runs down over the neck, so the cap height (5) is much larger than what it adds to the vial height (3 − 4): that is why the cap is measured on its own.

    Silicone stopper
With cap 2 1 3 4 5 Not measured: the plug inside the neck If it is easier: cap height (5) = with cap (3) − without cap (4)

Not to scale. For silicone, the cap height (5) is only the part above the rim; the plug that goes into the neck does not count.

1 Body diameterThe outside of the tube on its straight section, where the gripper holds it. On conical tubes, never at the tip.
2 Cap diameterThe largest outside diameter of the cap, ribs included.
3 Height with capWith the cap fully closed: from the base of the vial to the top of the cap.
4 Height without capWith the cap off: from the base of the vial to its rim.
5 Cap heightScrew caps and vacuum tubes: the whole cap, off the vial, skirt included. Silicone: only the part above the rim.
